Gould oscilloscope manual forum

Tinkering with them back then, they were not so great even when new. Not recommended as they are difficult to support and service documentation and parts is very questionable. LeaUK Contributor Posts: I'm struggling to find a Gould service manual, the internet is bare :- I'm trying to calibrate input voltage and there are so many unmarked presets inside Many thanks Lea. Yes, it was something like that. I've created a small collection of Philips Scopes by now.

PMA for doing actual work, PM to repair mostly done, but still has tons of drift over the first 5 Minutes after power up and one PM as spare parts-supply for the other PM Which means I'm not interested in the Gould scope I'd suggest selling it or using it for high voltage stuff.

Pages: [ 1 ] Go Up. And Unit menages to auto calibrate itself this way. Seems to work. This is my first oscilloscope I acquired for learning how to work with them in general. I will post updates in a few days, as the shops for electronic components are not working because of covid situation I have made a list to buy and replace all electrostatics on these plugin boards. Per Hanson is quite right. That board is working fine Thanks Per Hanson for reply I have just finished replacing many axial capacitors that had high vloss just in case.

The unit manages to calibrate itself fine but I do have one major concern. That gives me 18 volts on 16v line Now I did measure transistor Q1 even after replacment on psu, having a hard time, overheating up to degrees Celsius with no load and 70 degrees Celsius with all loads attached. It was on "Q1" bf which is now replaced with mpsa Now Gould psu units have if not the same circuits. No idea where you would get one, but I wouldn't have thought it would be worth it? Thanks I have already downloaded the manual but it is only the user manual.

After a more detailed examination the CRT seems to be similar to the tubes in small portable TV units as the display is used to display Menus etc. As these TVs can be bought dirt cheap if it works on the seven inch tube I will purchase a five inch TV and strip it for the tube. A damn site cheaper than a new scope.

Right, so it's not a scope tube then?. Not as such it would seem to be a standard monochrome CRT using deflection coils. The manual gives details of screen lines etc. The larger tube worked well enough to show that the unit is serviceable though the image was distorted due to incorrect EHT, focus voltage etc. So now I'm on the look out for a smaller tube. Good luck - there are a few different types, but many are interchangeable.
